Reverse the brushes each time you clean out the machine. The brush bristles acquire a ‘set’ in the direction they revolve unless switched regularly. When doing daily vacuuming and pile lifting with the extractorVAC, rotate the brushes every 15-20 minutes. Note: If you have vacuumed very greasy carpet, clean brushes by running unit over a couple handfuls of HOST Dry Extraction Cleaner.
Liberator Brushes

Remove the brushes and clean out the underside of the machine. Flip the brushes end to end and replace on the opposite hex shafts.
Replace brush side plate. Press the brush guard against the brushes while replacing the side plate. If the brush side plate does not engage, rotate the hex shaft slightly until the brush side plate slips in place. Lock the lock on the side plate and replace the Velcro skirt.
